The statue stands 42cm high with the base measuring 17cm x 9cm. It is a very solid piece and weighs around 2kgs. The base is lined with black velvet to prevent slipping and damage to surfaces. A truly stunning piece of Egyptian decor!

Thoth, the Scribe of the Gods, was also the God of drawing, writing, geometry, wisdom, medicine, music, astronomy, magic and the moon. His sacred bird was the ibis. He is portrayed with the head and neck of an ibis and carries a tablet and pen. Thoth means "He of Djehut" which means "he who created everything from sound". It is said that Thoth wrote books in which he set forth a fabulous knowledge of magic and incantation.
